Ranked Choice Voting; Political Poison
RCV will ensure reliance on machines to manipulate the vote, and doom the Republic
Prescott, AZ July 7, 2024… We know the problem and we know the solution, so what’s missing? We know that machine tabulation is most likely not going to match hand tabulation, why else would hundreds of millions of dollars be spent on blocking such a comparison from public view? We know that individuals can vote without a positive photo ID, and that means illegal aliens. What is missing? The political will to require a positive photo ID that confirms one’s United States citizenship and the right to cast a ballot in an election. There is now a political deflection move afoot to convince sane Americans that we must be more inclusive [?] and let everyone vote, even if here illegally.
The hucksters, charlatans, and political gamers are at it again. The only thing wrong with how we select our leaders is the reliance on machine tabulation. Now they are trying to convince the People that Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a panacea to fairness. Take notice that it is the left that is promoting this political poison. If it is so good, why does Alaska have it on the ballot to ban it? Even California Governors Jerry Brown (D) and Gavin Newsom (D) vetoed bills that would have established the scheme there.
Governor Newsom crystalized the crux of the problem in his October 13, 2019 Veto Letter writing, “Ranked choice is an experiment that has been tried in several charter cities in California. Where it has been implemented, I am concerned that it has often led to voter confusion, and that the promise that ranked choice voting leads to greater democracy is not necessarily fulfilled…”1 A governor’s veto is not a nascent thing, it is an important milestone of public policy caution. Since his veto, California still has not adopted RCV.
Fire up the propaganda machine…
When we see such proposals we can deduce that there is a power shift going on. That is the case here as well. The rise of the American Populist Movement (APM) is following the same trajectory as BREXIT, which was the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Following a referendum held on 23 June 2016, Brexit officially took place at 23:00 GMT on 31 January 2020. The UK is the only sovereign country to have left the EU.
Single-page, “informational” websites are popping up all over claiming that, “Our “choose-one” elections deprive voters of meaningful choices, create increasingly toxic campaign cycles, advance candidates who lack broad support, and leave voters feeling like our voices are not heard. Ranked choice voting is the solution.”2 Nothing could be further from the truth, you are being gaslighted.
Allegedly, RCV, also known as instant runoff voting (IRV) and “jungle primary” makes our elections better by allowing voters to rank candidates in order of preference. While that may sound appealing, there is an increased risk of voter confusion, not to mention the potential for algorithmic alteration.
Allegedly, RCV is straightforward. Voters have the option to rank candidates in order of preference: first, second, third, and so forth. If your first choice doesn’t have a chance to win, your ballot counts for your next choice, but only if you mak your ballot for that candidate.
Allegedly, RCV works in all types of elections and supports more representative outcomes. RCV means better choices, better campaigns, and better representation. “That’s why it’s the fastest-growing nonpartisan voting reform in the nation,” but it’s not. In fact, the radical left has begun to push RCV because it is seen as a means to gain political advantage through candidate packing. At the same time, the radical left is realizing that their grip on power is slipping away.
Perhaps the most absurd claim…
“Ranked choice voting (RCV) makes our democracy more equitable and gives voters more choice at the ballot box. RCV elections are more inclusive than the status quo (often called first-past-the-post elections) because the system gives voters an easy and more meaningful way to express their candidate preferences and make their voice heard.”3
Wait, what? When we see the telltale radical leftist trigger words inserted into any policy discussion, beware. There is a scam afoot. Terms like “more equitable” and “more inclusive” are little more than word salad designed to put lipstick on a pig. The reality is, that in an RCV election, the most popular candidate may not win if all conditions are not met, and the People will be saddled with an inferior candidate.
It is also quite curious that while we have been told by the leftist media for over 3 years that nothing is wrong with our elections, now suddenly there is a push to alter them with a plan to fix “a broken system.” Below you can vote for your preference.
Easy and more meaningful way?
Ok, let’s unpack that and you be the judge.
Under the current voting process, you select the individual you want to vote for by filling in the bubble next to the name of your preferred candidate for each office. Then you move on to the next office.
Under RCV, you rank candidates for a particular office in order of preference.
