Uniparty Megadonors Pushing RCV, Why?
RCV is Ranked Choice Voting and it threatens "1-Person, 1-Vote" fairness...
Prescott, AZ January 27, 2024… Even California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed legislation to implement Ranked Choice Voting (RCV); that’s a serious vote of no confidence. I’m going to explain what it is, and why it is an existential threat to election transparency and opens the door to wholesale manipulation of elections.
The “1-Person, 1-Vote” doctrine is fairly simple, it expresses the principle of equal representation in voting, and comports well with the Fourteenth Amendment, “Equal Protection” clause, for equal protection under the laws. The slogan is used by advocates of democratically elected government, and political equality, especially concerning universal suffrage and proportional representation.
RCV undermines “1-Person, 1-Vote” by altering the highest vote-getter wins construct when there is no requirement for a “run-off election”. Run-off elections are a kissing cousin of RCV, a second election is held because of broad vote distribution amongst many candidates. In a run-off election, only the top two candidates appear on the ballot. In an RCV election, votes are shuffled through the use of an algorithm and black box ballot tabulation scheme, sort of like what we are trying to get away from. In fact, RCV can’t be done efficiently without a machine calculating the vote.
Whoa, wait a minute, aren’t votes supposed to be counted not calculated?
“We track the special interests that aim to influence how Americans vote, including efforts to introduce ranked-choice voting, or RCV.1 Though this scheme was first used in America a century ago, it was largely forgotten until tens of millions of dollars began to be put behind it in the last several years.” Scott Walter, Capitol Research Center.
If the system we have is working so well, why change?
We’ve been told that there is nothing wrong with our election systems. The folks making up the “fraud denier” population refuse to acknowledge publically that our election systems are broken and are more akin to simulations that meet the expectations of election manipulators than a real expression of the polity and their consent to be governed by choices they make at the polls.
Immediately upon asking questions about the 2020 General Election, those who stood up and dared to challenge the result were labeled “election deniers.” It was a hasty response by the election fraud gangsters who had to defuse a situation where a badly executed election theft was recognized by so many. And of course, the tail-wagging lapdog media was at the ready to deploy the slur to obfuscate the truth.
It seems odd indeed that those with specifically protected speech freedom sold out to the very evil that they were protected to ferret out and expose.
We who have been diligently working to seek out and expose election process defects and fraud schemes have been effective, and now the fraud gangsters must shift their tactics to maintain control over their power broker system.
Ok, so why has a system that was abandoned a century ago, returned?
The answer is at the same time simple and complex. The Capitol Research Center has identified a trend revealing leftist megadonors have poured millions of dollars into RCV. They aren’t doing it out of a sense of philanthropy. They have figured out a way to manipulate elections by loading up the ballot with both serious candidates and “markers.”
Markers are people who appear on a ballot but are not serious candidates, they provide an opportunity to shift votes from a fourth or fifth-place first-round vote count to someone who finished the first round in third place. So you see, even though the first-place candidate takes the most votes in the first round, because they did not pull 50%+1 vote, they did not win, and the election must go to a second round. This is where the magic happens, votes for the third, fourth, and fifth-place losers are redistributed to the top two or maybe three vote-getters.
If a voter did not rank any other candidate on their ballot, their vote no longer counts, and that is where “1-Person, 1-Vote” is undermined.
In a nutshell, Ranked Choice Voting is a means for special interests to shift their strategy of control of a system where the defects have been identified and those who want to protect the status quo to exploit the defects must replace their scheme with a new scheme that can be used to continue to game the system.
Decline to sign…
In several states, Arizona included, petition gatherers, are hitting people up in parking lots and in front of post offices to sign petitions to get RCV on the 2024 ballot. These use slick terms like, “Our “choose-one” elections deprive voters of meaningful choices, create increasingly toxic campaign cycles, advance candidates who lack broad support and leave voters feeling like our voices are not heard,”2 from organizations with great sounding names Like “Fair Vote” and “Defend Democracy”. Meanwhile, they are deceiving voters about the effect that RCV will have on their choices at the polls.
Most, if not all, of the gatherers, are paid well by the count of signatures they gather and are ignorant of the damage their petition will do to the act of voting in the future. When you see one of these folks, decline to sign and ask them, “Why are you seeking to undermine our elections?” They will not know what to say.
